If you’ve been following me for any amount of
time, you probably know I love to glam up every once in a while, but that’s a
lot of effort for a working girl to put in every day. So today, I’m sharing my
simple, clean, fresh face everyday makeup look.
I’m sure you’ve heard this a thousand times, but
it’s true: the key to good makeup is a great base! I always start with a clean
and moisturized face! (See my skincare routine here!) I like to let my
moisturizer set for about 30 mins before applying makeup, but that doesn’t
always happen when I’m rushing to get ready for work, so I’ll put it on then
brush my teeth or fix my hair and call it good! This is when I would normally
use primer if I was going full glam, but I rarely prime my face on a normal
work day, again this is a pretty minimal look!
Now I blend in my Tarte Cosmetics tinted moisturizer in shade medium tan. I know it feels like we just moisturized, but especially in this dry winter weather- I’ll take all the help I can get! Plus this adds a little bit of coverage to our base! Next up is our CC cream, I always like using a cc cream throughout the work week rather than a full foundation because it feels so much lighter and more natural on my skin. I’ve been using Peter Thomas Roth (linked here) in shade tan. I absolutely love it for the health benefits for my skin and the natural glow it gives me! It has great coverage and lasts forever, so I highly recommend this brand but you can use any CC cream you feel comfortable with; another good one is it Cosmetics CC cream!
Once your main base is on, I always add a little concealer under
my eyes, on my eyelids, down my nose, and a little on my forehead. Lately, I’ve
been loving Tarte Cosmetics shape tape in shade
fair light neutral. This brings a little bit of lightness and life back to the
center of your face. You can blend it out with a damp Real Techniques beuaty blender or a RT concealer brush. After
this step it’s so important to set your face! I use a translucent setting powder and pat
it into my skin with a fluffy brush. This keeps my under eyes and smile lines
from creasing and keeps my makeup in place all day.
Once my face is set, I go in with a little bit
of bronzer from the top of my ear down toward the corner of my mouth blending
up to life the cheeks and give me a little sunkissed look! While our bronzer is
out, I go ahead and take a blending eyeshadow brush and dust this in my crease!
It makes t look like I splashed some eyeshadow up there, and still I only out
in minimal effort!! I love the Hoola bronzer by
Benefit, but to be honest on a daily basis I use this drugstore brand. After
bronzer, I add a touch of blush on the apples of my cheeks right above the
bronzer and blend up, you can use any blush, but I’ve been using this Milani
blush in shade Berry Amore.
Now all we have left is the eyes! We have our
shadow checked off with the bronzer trick, so now it’s just eyebrows and
mascara! I use the Anastasia brow defined in shade taupe, but to
save a little money, I also recommend this L’Oréal eyebrow pencil and I
wear shade brown in this! Trace out my natural brows and just add a little
color and that’s all! Then, I curl my lashes and use this Covergirl mascara in Very Black as a
base for volume and then I add on this Tarte Cosmetics Lights, Camera, Lashes in black
for length! Finally, I mist my face with setting spray and some
rose water and call
it a day!!
It seems like a lot when it’s all typed out like
this, but I can manage to get this all done in 10 minutes or less on any given
morning. Once you get down your routine it’s sooo easy! Quick and simple
natural looks are my favorite for an everyday work week schedule! What do you
think of this one!? If you try it out, send me a pic! I’d love to see your
creations!
