“Oh, my soul
You are not alone
There’s a place where fear has to face the God you know
One more day, He will make a way
Let Him show you how, you can lay this down
‘Cause you’re not alone”
Oh My Soul x Casting Crowns
Have y’all ever listened to a song a thousand times and then one day you hear it and the lyrics just hit you to your core? This happened to me with this song the other day. It was one of those moments when God is like “Listen! Hear Me! See what I can do for you?!” It gave me chills and brought tears to my eyes all at once.
If you have been around for a while, you know the last 2 years of my life have been crazy town. I’ve moved from my hometown in Louisville, KY to big city Atlanta, built the house of my dreams, lived there for 3 weeks then packed up and moved to Indianapolis. And that’s just a brief synopsis… Like I said, crazy town! There were so many ups and downs along the way. I relied on my faith and tried to trust in God’s plan and know it was bigger than what I envisioned for myself.
Now, if we’re being candid… that’s a lot easier said than done. There were times that I fully believed that and totally trusted in His plan for us. There were times where I felt peace in all of our unknowns and found comfort in the chaos. However, there were way too many times where I found myself completely stressed out, broken down, and tired from carrying the weight that I should’ve handed over to Jesus. He made the ultimate sacrifice so that I didn’t have to carry those worries, yet I chose to anyway. I fought him and I hid in darkness and fear.
Oh, how I wish I would have heard these lyrics during that time. I so badly needed this reminder: that He will make a way and He will carry our burdens and He will always be with you. Now that I think about it though, maybe, just maybe, I had to learn the hard way so that I could share this lesson with you. Listen to these lyrics. Pray about them. I pray that if you are in a period of waiting and unknowns that you can take these words to heart and trust that He has made a way for you and that He will be leading you every step if you let Him. Remember, you are not alone.
